Ingredients

  • For the Chicken
  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • For the Coating
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese optional
  • Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • For Cooking
  • Light cooking spray or olive oil spray

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken dry and cut it into evenly sized strips.
  • In one bowl, mix flour with a little salt and pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, combine breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese.
  • Coat each chicken strip lightly in flour, dip into the egg mixture, then press into the breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for about 3–5 minutes.
  • Arrange the chicken strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray the tops with oil.
  • Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking, until the chicken is golden and crispy.
  • Let the chicken rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the basket or the chicken may turn soft instead of crispy.
  • A light spray of oil helps the coating become golden and crunchy.
  • Panko breadcrumbs give a crispier texture than regular breadcrumbs.
  • Cooking time may vary slightly depending on your air fryer model and chicken thickness.
  • I personally like serving these with garlic mayo or ketchup for a quick snack.
