  • Cheese – 1/4 cup (Parmesan is best)
  • Black pepper – 1/2 tsp
  • Pasta water – 1/4 cup
Optional Add-ons
If you want to make it more filling:
Veggies: Mushrooms, spinach
Protein: Chicken, shrimp, tofu
Pro Tip: Adding pasta water makes the sauce silky and creamy.

Step-by-Step Garlic Butter Pasta Recipe

Step 1: Boil the Pasta
Boil water in a large pot and add salt.
Cook the pasta for 8–10 minutes.
Don't forget to reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
Step 2: Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce
Heat olive oil and butter in a pan (over a low flame).
Add the garlic and sauté until it turns golden.
Add black pepper and chili flakes.
Tip: Do not let the garlic burn, otherwise the taste will become bitter.

Step 3: Combine the Pasta and Sauce
Add the boiled pasta to the pan.
Add a little of the reserved pasta water for creaminess.

Add fresh herbs (parsley or basil).
Sprinkle with extra cheese.
Drizzle with a little olive oil.
